The Detroit Police Department is seeking the community’s help to identify and locate a man wanted in connection with an assault and robbery at a gas station on the city’s east side.
The incident transpired shortly before 1 a.m. on Sunday, October 15, within the 15000 block of E. 8 Mile Rd. near Gratiot Ave, according to investigators.
Police reported that the situation unfolded when the suspect, pictured in the released images, accused a 33-year-old man of theft. An argument ensued between the two individuals, and when the victim attempted to leave the gas station, the suspect obstructed the exit, preventing his departure.
The confrontation escalated as the suspect assaulted the victim and wielded an object, using it to strike the victim. The suspect also took the victim’s money before swiftly fleeing the gas station. Law enforcement has not disclosed the nature of the object used in the assault.
The suspect made his getaway in a newer model Jeep Compass, while the victim was promptly transported to a hospital for treatment of the injuries he sustained during the attack.
Authorities are now calling upon the public for assistance in identifying this wanted individual.
