In a tragic incident that unfolded at Dooley’s Tavern in Roseville last year, a man who shot and killed a bouncer while being ejected from the now-closed establishment has been found guilty of murder on Tuesday.
The unfortunate sequence of events began on February 26, 2022, when Julius Bing was tasked with removing Michael Altman-Tucker from the bar following a physical altercation with a woman. During this process, Altman-Tucker produced a firearm and shot Bing. Tragically, Bing was pronounced dead at a hospital following the incident, and a friend of Altman-Tucker was also struck by a stray bullet.
Following a thorough legal process, a jury delivered a guilty verdict against Altman-Tucker. He has been found guilty of second-degree murder, assault with intent to do great bodily harm, and two counts of felony firearm possession. The sentencing for Altman-Tucker has been scheduled for December 6.
Macomb County Prosecutor Pete Lucido expressed his gratitude to the jury, stating, “Thank you to the jury for taking the time and careful consideration in delivering a guilty verdict. We hope that this verdict will help the victim’s family gain closure.”
The verdict in this case marks an important step towards justice for the victim’s family, as they seek closure and accountability for this tragic loss.
