Man Arrested for Mail Theft in Bloomfield Hills

Bloomfield Hills, MI – On Sunday, November 5, at 1:05 a.m., local law enforcement apprehended Tino Lopez Evans following the discovery of a substantial quantity of mail intended for residents in Bloomfield Hills.

The incident transpired when officers from the Bloomfield Hills Police Department responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle near mailboxes situated on Stratford Lane. Upon arrival at the scene, officers encountered Evans, who promptly attempted to flee on foot. Fortunately, a brief pursuit led to Evans’ apprehension.

Upon searching Evans’ vehicle, authorities discovered a significant volume of mail addressed to residents on Stratford Lane, Boulder Lane, and Arbor Court.

In response to these actions, Evans faced arraignment in the 48th District Court. He has been charged with one count of stealing a financial transaction device, a felony, one count of resisting and obstructing police officers, also a felony, and three counts of mail theft, classified as misdemeanors.

Evans has been remanded to the Oakland County Jail with a bond set at $35,000, pending his forthcoming court appearance. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of safeguarding the integrity of the postal system and ensuring the security of residents’ mail.
