A shooting incident at a Southfield apartment complex in the early hours of Friday, October 27, has left the police searching for a suspect, with a victim in critical condition.
According to the Southfield Police Department, police and fire personnel responded to a distress call at the Heights of Southfield apartment complex, located at 20925 Lahser Road near 8 Mile, at around 3:35 a.m. on the said date. The report indicated that a person had been shot.
Upon their arrival at the apartment building, authorities discovered a 30-year-old man from Grandville with multiple gunshot wounds. Life-saving measures were administered on the scene before the victim was swiftly transported to a local hospital. The man is currently in critical condition, according to police sources.
WWJ’s Charlie Langton reported live from the Heights of Southfield, describing it as a “large” apartment complex with a gated entrance. He shared updates on the ongoing situation, emphasizing the presence of Southfield police and security personnel at the complex.
Southfield Police stated that they are actively working on identifying and locating the suspect involved in the shooting. As of now, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear.
“We’re still trying to figure out exactly where the suspect is, if the police have any ideas as to who the suspect is,” Langton reported. “It’s an active scene here.”
