Inkster, MI – A man wanted by Inkster Police for allegedly shooting his girlfriend, leaving her in critical condition, has been successfully tracked down and taken into custody.
37-year-old Andre Levell-Freeman Williams Jr. was apprehended by Inkster Police around 8 p.m. on Tuesday. The exact location of his arrest has not been disclosed.
Williams had been on the run since Saturday night when he allegedly shot his girlfriend during a heated argument inside a residence on Biltmore Street near Stollman Dr. in Inkster. In response to the incident, a SWAT team swiftly surrounded and entered the home at approximately 9:45 p.m., but Williams had already fled the scene by that time, according to police.
In the wake of the incident, the public was urged to remain vigilant for the suspect but not to approach him, as he was considered armed and dangerous.
The victim, who sustained a nearly fatal gunshot wound to the neck, was rushed to a local hospital and listed in critical condition. As of Wednesday, there has been no updated information regarding her condition, and her identity has not been disclosed.
The charges expected to be filed against Williams are currently pending.
