Bloomfield Township, MI – A woman is now in custody following a bank robbery that took place in Oakland County’s Bloomfield Township on Thursday.

Bloomfield Township Police received a distress call about the incident around 12:15 p.m. The crime occurred shortly before the call, as the suspect hastily exited the Comerica Bank branch, located in the 4300 block of Woodward Ave. near Winthrop Rd.

Bank employees recounted the ordeal to police, reporting that a female suspect entered the bank and handed a note to a teller, explicitly indicating her intention to rob the bank while demanding money “with no dye.”

In compliance with the suspect’s demand, the teller relinquished a sum of cash, and the perpetrator made her exit from the bank on foot.

Promptly responding to the report, the Bloomfield Township Police Department initiated a swift operation, leading to the successful apprehension of the suspect without any confrontations.

Police have confirmed that the stolen money has been recovered. The FBI was also summoned to the scene and will collaborate on the ongoing investigation.

The arrested suspect is presently in custody, awaiting pending charges that will be filed after her arraignment. For legal reasons, her identity will not be disclosed until the arraignment is complete.
